Salt air and car paint in St. Augustine
St. Johns County is hard on clearcoat. A sealant or ceramic isn’t vanity here — it’s a barrier.

You can wash a car every Sunday in St. Augustine and still lose the finish if it lives in the salt. Overnight dew, onshore wind off the Atlantic, and the film that settles on anything parked outside — that’s the climate, not a bad wash.
What salt air does to clearcoat in St. Johns County
Salt sits in the clearcoat. Combined with irrigation overspray and hard water, it etches. That’s the cloudy windshield and the dull hood you notice in afternoon sun. A one-step polish can take light etching out. It cannot put back what you grind off every season by doing nothing.
Sealant vs ceramic spray vs coating for Florida cars
Our Studio package includes a paint sealant — months of protection, not years. The ceramic spray upgrade ($50) stretches that to six–twelve months. A multi-year ceramic coating is a different job: we quote it after we see the paint, because you don’t coat over swirls and hope.
If the car lives outside in St. Augustine, some kind of armor belongs on it. Call (904) 201-9156 and we’ll tell you which one the panel actually needs.
